Kenyatta atoa dola 10m za kilimo cha mirungi

Rais wa Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta ametangaza kwamba serikali yake itatenga dola za Kimarekani 10 milioni za kusaidia wakulima wa mirungi kwenye bajeti ya mwaka ujao wa kifedha.
Wakulima hao wameathirika sana kufuatia hatua ya baadhi ya nchi za Ulaya kupiga marufuku uuzaji wa mirungi, maarufu pia kama miraa, katika mataifa hayo.
Hutumiwa sana na watu wa jamii ya Wasomali na hutegemewa sana na jamii zianzoishi katika maeneo ya mashariki ya Mlima Kenya, miongoni mwa watu wa jamii ya Wameru.
Pesa hizo zitatolewa kupitia Wizara ya Kilimo.
Rais Kenyatta ametangaza hayo alipokuwa akitia saini mswada unaotambua mirungi kuwa mmea wa kuzalishia taifa mapato kuwa sheria.
Sheria hiyo itaifanya serikali kuweka mikakati ya kutangaza, kuzalisha na kusambaza na kuuza zao hilo.
Rais Kenyatta amesema kutaundwa pia jopo kazi la kuangazia changamoto zinazokabili sekta ya ukuzaji wa mirungi ambayo itatoa mapendekezo kwa serikali.
